Punu - II

Description
In this work, I revisited classical and iconic symbols of the past. A tribute to the ancestral realm of existence, these visuals are Influenced by the Punu-Lumbo mask from the Shira tribe in Gabon and the Dan people of Liberia. I was exploring the connection between the human realm and the spirit realm. So I researched and found out that traditionally the Dan tribe would use the Dan masks to communicate messages to the spirit realm. When Dan wore the front, he would transcend into the spirit, bringing forth messages of wisdom from his forebears.
